Neil’s background has its foundations in manufacturing operations, in 2000 he graduated from The University of Lincolnshire & Humberside with an honours degree in Food Science & Food Technology. Utilising his technical qualifications he went on to gain practitioner knowledge and experience in a range of companies working in a technical role that encompassed SME’s, large privately owned businesses and blue chip organisations.
Neil has also continued his program of continual personal development gaining the ‘NEBOSH Health and Safety General Certificate’.

“it was a considered decision to achieve a Health & Safety qualification, the knowledge gained achieving the qualification allows me to provide a more integrated and expedite solution route”

Neil has become both well known and respected in the Humber region and also maintains a portfolio of international clients in mainland Europe, Iceland, Maldives Sri Lanka, and the Seychelles. In addition to day to day client support

Neil is involved with several high level projects which include:

  • Developing Industry Guides in conjunction with the Food Standards Agency.
  • Assisting businesses in the Far East attain BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
  • Maintaining the quality management systems (QMS) of local businesses to BRC standards.
Operating as an independent consultant Neil’s continues to provide a value for money service

it is especially important considering today’s financial climate that businesses are confident that they are receiving value for money whilst not compromising the exacting standards expected by both the accreditation bodies and the clients and customers of the business.”

It is becoming increasingly obvious that there is a distinct lack of both experienced and appropriately qualified professionals in the technical field and the forecast is not good, the numbers of graduates in the respective food sectors sees a continual decline; this coupled with the overheads incurred employing a full time technical manager makes utilising the services of a technical consultant a cost effective option. A schedule of the services provided by Neil includes:

  • HACCP construction & implementation
  • HACCP Training
  • QMS construction & management
  • Independent Supplier Verification
  • Internal Auditing
  • BRC Standards Implementation
  • BRC Pre-evaluation
  • Food Safety Training
  • H&S Risk Assessment
  • H&S Policy Development & Training
